WORKING BEES
Grow Wānaka runs Bee & Tea working bees every Saturday morning year round. In Spring, Summer and early Autumn the hours are 9:30am to 12pm, and in late Autumn through winter 10am to 12pm.
We also run Bee & Brew working bee sessions from 4:30-6pm every Wednesday in Summer, sponsored with fizzy drinks from our local breweries Rhyme & Reason and B. Effect, and also Sidekick Soda, cheers!

Te Kākano Planting Collaboration
6 July, 2024
Time: 1-3pm
Te Kākano and Grow Wānaka are teaming up for a collaborative planting session at Grow Wānaka Community Garden.
Grow Wānaka will hold its scheduled working bee from 10-12pm, and then we'll join the Te Kākano team from 1-3pm to establish a native planting site at the bottom of the garden to further enhance the landscape. Morning and afternoon tea provided after the sessions.
Come for part or all of the session connecting our two organisations in landscape restoration.
Parking is limited so we highly encourage carpooling or alternative transport to the garden. If you have your own gardening gloves please bring them along.

Grow Celebration Sizzle
December 14th, 2024
Time: 9:30am - 1:00pm
An end of the year celebration potluck sizzle.
Come for the working bee and stay for the potluck lunch, as we celebrate the garden, the team and so much more.
This is a zero waste event so please byo cutlery, camp chair if you have one, and something to share (nibbles, main, something for the bbq or dessert). We'll have the bbq fired up, fresh produce from the garden, and cold fizzy drinks.

Herbal Culture - Tea Making Workshop
Wednesday evening 12th February, 2025
Time: 5 - 6pm
Grow Wānaka Community Garden

Loran from Herbal Culture will be sharing her knowledge of tea making with us in this fantastic garden workshop. We will be making tea from both fresh and died herbs grown and harvested locally.
All that is needed is a couple jars or bags to store your creations and a cup for tasting.
