COMPOSTING WORKSHOP with Ben Elms

In this workshop we will be exploring a few systems for converting your food organics and/or green waste into a value added product for your garden or landscape.
Ben will be covering hot/cold compost, worm farming and bokashi bin systems, all perfect for home scale composting and provide an option for any living situation.
We'll have working examples of each composting system so you can see first hand how they operate and if it could be a good fit for your living context.
We recommend bringing a hat and water bottle, pen and paper for taking notes, and gloves if you want to get hands on.

PLANTING FOR BEES WORKSHOP with Barna from Tiaki bees

We are thrilled to have Barna from Tiaki Bees sharing his wealth of information on beekeeping, bee health, the importance of bees and other pollinators, and what we can plant in our gardens to attract and support them.
Lots of special surprises in this workshop so come along to find out more about how to look after our pollinating friends.

All that is needed is a couple jars or bags to store your creations and a cup for tasting.

Grow Wānaka runs working bees every Saturday morning year round. In Spring, Summer and early Autumn the hours are 9:30am to 12pm, and in late Autumn through winter 10am to 12pm.
We also run Wednesday Microbe Brew working bees from 4:30-6pm, sponsored with beer from Rhyme & Reason, thanks!
